Dr. Amir Alwazzan, the Founder and CEO of Verve Oil Services and Technology (VOST), brings over 37 years of extensive hands-on experience in the global upstream oil and gas industry. In this leadership role, he directs functional teams focused on providing independent technical assurance and support for VOST’s diverse operations and projects. His distinguished career spans international assignments with major firms at different locations worldwide and his global portfolio includes significant successful contributions to projects in the Middle East, USA, Canada, South East Asia, Europe and Central Asia. Additionally, he shared his expertise as a lecturer and consultant engineer at the University of Malaya, Malaysia for 7 years.

As part of his contribution to the oil and gas industry community, Dr. Alwazzan has authored / co-authored many papers, delivered several keynote speeches at international events and served as a technical reviewer for 3 premier journals in the field of Petroleum Engineering, Science and Technology. He also served as a JPT Editorial Review Board member (the SPE’s flagship journal) and a columnist of the Deepwater Fields Development focus area for 4 consecutive years. He is currently a member with the Executive Advisory Board of Iraq’s Energy Academy Foundation (IENA) and with some other international institutions.

Dr. Alwazzan is a Chartered Petroleum Engineer (British Engineering Council) and a Registered European Engineer (FEANI). He earned his BSc and MSc degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Baghdad University, Iraq in 1987 and 1993, respectively, and his PhD degree in transient multiphase flow in pipelines from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2006. He is a recipient of multiple international awards, recognitions and appreciations.
